Traditional Chinese Acupuncture

Traditional Acupuncture belongs to a complete system of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is over 2000 years old. Acupuncture is a safe and effective system of healing and can be used to treat people of all ages with a wide range of illnesses.

Acupuncture works to help maintain your body's equilibrium. It involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body to regulate the flow of 'Qi', your body's vital energy. 'Qi is seen as flowing through  channels in the body, just like blood flows though the blood vessels.

Each organ in the body has an associated “meridian” which is a specific pathway on the skin. Each acupuncture point has a very specific anatomical location and unique action on the organ system that it connects to.

Acupuncture treatment is aimed at the root cause of your condition as well as your main symptoms. This approach helps with resolving your problem and enhancing your feeling of wellbeing.

Biomedical research has begun to investigate how acupuncture works from the western point of view, and has suggested some theories based on the neurology of pain. None of them yet explain the effects of acupuncture adequately, but research that looks at a combination of psychology, neurology and immunology may be beginning to understand the wide-ranging benefits acupuncture can deliver.

Modern research shows that Acupuncture can affect most of the body’s systems-nervous system, muscle tone, hormone outputs, circulation, antibody production, and allergic responses, as well as respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive systems.
